32 Weeks Pregnant

32 Weeks and babe’s hand is the size of a macaroon.

Everything feels like entering new territory now as I haven’t been this far into a pregnancy before. I have a fresh sense of hope and also relief for getting past some milestones—week 31, our baby shower, and setting up the nursery.

Yesterday I got a call from my doctor’s office letting me know the scheduled time for our C-section and all the preparatory details. It made everything feel so real.

Prepping for the C-section oddly gives me comfort. I know many women are scared of C-sections but for me, it’s what I’m familiar with. We get to choose his birthday and he should be born just a couple hours after arriving at the hospital. And I’m hopeful that recovery will be easier this time because we’ll have the joy of a new baby to distract us.

My weekly routine now includes kick counts, doctors appointments, ultrasounds, and non-stress tests. In these precious last few weeks we’ll wait with hopeful expectation. Looking forward to meeting you soon, buddy.
