I've been busy getting ready for the 2011 East Austin Studio Tour and my studio mate, Ricky and I are going to set up a Kickstarter project to help make our participation in E.A.S.T. even more successful than last year. If you're not familiar with Kickstarter, it is an online platform for creative types to share projects and have supporters pledge their money in exchange for an incentive if the project is successfully funded. Ricky and I have learned so much this past year about maintaining a studio practice and exhibiting and selling our work through the experience we have gained since moving into our studio complex, participating in the 2010 E.A.S.T., starting an art collective with the other artists from our studio, and attending lectures and workshops. Our Kickstarter was approved this week, which means we can start creating our project page and promoting it once it's complete—so be on the look out!
