So I have lots of exciting news lately. First off, I'm almost finished with my newest painting, Backstage Wife. I've worked really hard this past month to complete it in time for the East Austin Studio Tour, happening November 12th-20th. I can't wait for this year's E.A.S.T. because I'm so much more prepared than I was last year. Ricky and I moved into a studio that's three times as big, which means we will have our own mini gallery to show off our work. I am also very excited to announce that I have not only reached my Kickstarter project goal but exceeded it! I am SO grateful to everyone who has supported me as an artist, either with their gracious funding or their encouraging words. As a result of successfully accomplishing my goal, I was able to purchase an Epson R3000 printer, which I have obsessed over for a long time now. I'm so thrilled that I will now be able to create my own prints on demand to share my work with more people. I plan to open up on Etsy shop online to sell notecards and prints of my paintings as well as the originals.
Other good news: I will be finished with all the requirements for my master's degree in art education by December! I have about 120 pages of my thesis written and am working on finishing the last chapter. Once my thesis is completed, it will be available to read online through the University of Texas' digital archives—that means you can read all 100+ pages of my historical study of artist-educators. I haven't been blogging as much lately, but it actually feels good to write more casually on my blog, where I can use conjunctions and don't have to worry about Microsoft Word's (often frustrating) style, headings, footnotes, and citations. I will keep you updated with more to come soon.
